Odi

Dear Animal Friends:

In an attempt to fill the void left in our house, by the passing of our 18 year old cat, we adopted Odi, a 12 week old orange tabby from your shelter. He brings us so much joy.....he even makes his 8 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever "big sister", Rosie, act like a puppy again. As you can tell from the attached pictures....he began snuggling with his big sister as soon as he came home with us back in September and continues to snuggle with her today.

Thanks so much for everything you do for these wonderful animals! And thank you for Odi!

Happy Holidays!
Keith, Cynthia, Andy, Rosie and Odi

Lady Jane

I wanted to update you on my adoption of the toy poodle you found in Hamilton. I guess I hit the doggie trifecta when I adopted this little girl. She has gone to the vet and other than a little nervous colitis, a flea allergy and the need for some dental work, she is in good health --just a little underweight.

I took her to the groomer and they were able to save a lot of her coat. So now she looks good. Her bald spots are filling in nicely, she gaining weight like crazy and she is running and playing all over my quite large back yard. She was well trained and obeys all kinds of voice commands. Except for a few accidents which I attribute to transfer trauma, she is house trained. She has barked twice since she's been with us and that's a real plus for my husband.

My husband, who puts on a big show of disinterest, is her favorite person and she follows him eveywhere she can when he's home. Lady Jane knows how to pose for the camera and the groomer told me that it was obvious that she had been professionally groomed in the past from her knowledge of how to move for the groomer. She loves to ride in the car and would probably drive if she could. In short, I got really lucky when I adopted her. She's a real sweetheart, well trained and just a joy. Some one lost a great dog when they lost her. Now, if I can just convince her that I'm her main squeeze instead of my husband, she'll be perfect.

Thanks,
Chris Glenn

Jack

Dear Animal Friends Humane Society:

We adopted "Jack" in from your shelter in October 2002. He was the "Big Boy" from a litter of Jack Russell Mix pups who were left at your shelter at the age of 4 weeks. Thank you so much for taking him in and caring for him so that he could make his way to our home.

This weekend Jack passed the test for Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog certification. We can't wait to share the joy of knowing Jack at our local nursing homes!

Thank you again!
Kevin, Carrie and Chloe

Angel

Dear friends at the Animal Friends Humane Society:

I just wanted to write you and tell you how thankful i was that there are people in the world who love animals so much. I remember when I first came to visit and i went where the dogs are....i took one look at angel and i knew she was my dog!

...Angel has done real well, she made herself right at home as soon as we walked in the door. She does many tricks such as sit, paw and she also knows what other paw means... she will just do anything for a treat!! Well, we wanted to write because she has been in our family for about a year and we are looking forward to making a visit and bringing in some special treats for all the other animals just waiting for new mommys and daddys! We look forward to seeing you and keep up the good work! You are all angels in your own very special way!

Thank you,
Brandy, Bruce, and Angel
